A virus is malware that self-replicates from file to file. Types of files infected include *.exe, *.doc, *.xls files. They can replicate slowly or quickly but only usually travel between computers as email attachments or on infected disks as a result of human intervention. Examples include the Concept virus, Stoned.Michelangelo, and malicious MS Office macro viruses.
