A Trojan horse is typically a non-replicating piece of software that a perpetrator installs covertly or by enticing an unaware user to run an otherwise benign program. The software then runs unaware to the computer user and can be used to launch other attacks, provide outside access, or feed sensitive information back to the perpetrator. Examples include BackOrifice, PKZIP.EXE Trojan horse, and NetBus.
